16.00 Case study. MODA : Mobile Customs and Excise – convergence on controlling and facilitating.

A new ICT solution optimizes control processes, strongly based on mobile communication. This system includes a computerized tool for managing and planning control operations plus a solution to provide remote access for some 600 customs officers. These officers are equipped with a mobile office communicating with central databases and applications. This allows accessing and updating on-line data when and where needed.
16.25 Case study. A consolidated and unified communications solution for a global mobile workforce
Frédéric Gilmont, CIO of Siemens Enterprise Communications Belgium
Siemens Enterprise Communications has rolled out a global project to adapt its ICT infrastructure to the new needs of its 12,000 highly mobile employees. The IT and communications infrastructure was consolidated, a new worldwide agreement was signed for carrier services with Verizon and a state-of-the-art mobile and unified communications solution was implemented. All IT and communications channels (GSM, fixed phone, email, chat, social networks) were integrated in one single fixed and mobile application, allowing a more efficient employee reachability and a better collaboration, combined with a reduction of overall ICT costs.

Cancellations
Participants unable to attend may be replaced by a colleague. Cancellations must be confirmed by post, fax or e-mail. Cancellations made up to 1 week prior to the event will be liable to an administrative fee of € 50 excl. 21% VAT. Cancellations made later than 1 week prior to the event will be invoiced for the full amount.
