Martha Rogers, ph.d., Founding Partner, Peppers & Rogers Group

Dr. Rogers began her professional career as a copywriter and advertising executive, and earned her Ph.D. at the University of Tennessee as a Bickel fellow. Patrick Parodi, Chairman of the Mobile Entertainment Forum and Chief Sales & Marketing of Amobee Media Systems
Patrick has over 15 years of experience in the wireless and interactive media industries in over 20 markets worldwide. He has held management roles at Alcatel, Packetvideo, Diveo Broadband Networks, Skytel, Teleworx and TVAnswer (Eon Corporation) and has recently been appointed the Chief Sales & Marketing Officer of Amobee Media Systems. Prior to joining Amobee, he had profit & loss responsibility for Alcatel’s growing Mobile Video & Music business unit. In particular, he was responsible Alcatel’s commercial successes with the likes of T-Mobile, Orange, DoCoMo and SonyNetworkServices. A stanch activist in the world of mobile entertainment, Patrick was first elected Chairman of the MEF in 2004, and was re-elected as Chairman in May 2006. He holds a Masters Degree in Business and International Management from Thunderbird and a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and History from The College of William and Mary. Patrick is fluent in English, French, Italian and Spanish and lives in London.


Tim Duhamel, CEO, Insites Consulting
Tim Duhamel is CEO and co-founder of InSites Consulting. He holds a Communication Sciences degree from Ghent University and studied Master in Marketing Management (former SLM) at Vlerick Leuven Ghent Management School afterwards. As one of the early adopters of the Internet, combined with his marketing background and marketing research experience, Tim has formulated successful web marketing strategies for different national and international companies. Some of his Internet hobbyhorses are virtual communities, electronic commerce and brand building websites.
Before InSites Tim worked at Vlerick Leuven Ghent Management School, the business school of Ghent University, for 5 years. He was co-founder and responsible for the Marketing & IT research centre. This centre conducted research on the adoption and the attitude towards information technology with end users and businesses. Based on these findings, marketing strategy advice was formulated for the research partners of the centre. Partners of the centre included Electrabel, Alcatell, Belgacom, Roularta, Siemens, Promedia, … . Tim Duhamel has published several articles in Tijdschrift voor Marketing and papers in the Journal of the Market Research Society.


Lieven Vermaele, Program Manager Strategy, VRT
Lieven (Gent, 1975) earned his degree in Master of Science and engineering with a specialisation in micro and optical electronics from the University of Gent in 1998. He started his professional career at the Information Technology research centre of the University of Gent and as a project engineer for Tractebel Engineering (Suez group).

In 2000, he was attracted by VRT to build out its digital roadmap. In 2002 Lieven became Project Manager Technological projects with a focus on transmission, ICT, digital television and new media projects. In a period of 3 years he was charged amongst others with the implementation of the pilot project for interactive TV (IO, digital home platform), the development of a Java-based multichannel publication engine, a multiplatform encoding system, several internet websites, and an interactive 3D world for children (Ketnetkick). From 2003 onwards his main focus shifted to more polyvalent and strategic projects. Lieven was active in the strategy group of VRT, where he analyzed the strategic and economic evolutions in the media value chain, the impact of the new networks and devices, and the evolutions in rights. Lieven played a key role in 'Ratio 2007' (finalised in 2005), the strategic management project that outlined the digital future for VRT. In 2004 the TV division of VRT attracted Lieven to build out its digital TV roadmap. Lieven created the on demand concept of ‘Net gemist’ and some of the first interactive programs. As of August 2005 he is Program Manager Strategy in charge of managing the project Beheersovereenkomst VRT 2006-2011.
Lieven recently became member of the European Broadcasting Union’s Technical Committee.


Yannic Beckers, Algemeen Directeur, Paratel
Yannic Beckers studied Communications at the Free University of Brussels and started his career at De Persgroep as a Product Manager for the Belgian tabloid press. In 1993 he became responsible for the commercial printing unit and successfully transformed the printing facilities of De Persgroep in a fully commercially operated business unit. In 1996 he got promoted to Business Unit Manager and took command of Edibel NV, the tabloid-publishing unit of De Persgroep.
After the acquisition of VTM by De Persgroep and Roularta he joined the Vlaamse Media Maatschappij in 1998 to set up a new media department. He restructured the existing Teletext channels and put the company on track with the Internet. He launched
www.VTM.be together with live and on demand streaming of audio and videocontent in narrowband as well as in broadband.
As an early adopter of SMS, Yannic Beckers introduced the Belgian public to mass media applications using SMS as a backchannel for successful TV-shows. In close collaboration with all mobile operators he rolled out the surcharged and reverse charged SMS business models in 2000 and early 2001, pushing the Belgian SMS market to a Scandinavian level. At the May 2002 conference in Paris, Yannic Beckers was elected president of the Commercial Television Applications Group (CTAG), a Pan-European organisation consisting of the main commercial and public broadcasters and their interactive departments. After his chairmanship he joined the Board of CTAG. In January 2004 the Vlaamse Media Maatschappij decided to transfer all new media activities to Paratel NV, a subsidiary company, of which Yannic Beckers was nominated General Manager. Paratel has 5 product lines: IVR, SMS, teletext, internet and IdTV.


Fons Van Dyck, Managing Director think I BBDO
Fons Van Dyck studied political and social sciences, as well as marketing and management. After graduating he worked as a producer for the popular TV programme “Roodvonk” for youngsters, and as an account director for the specialised business-to-business agency Industrial Marketing Systems. In 1991 he became communication director and spokesman for the Socialist Party. Fons Van Dyck was the man behind the successful election campaign “Your social security”, which was crowned with an Effie Award. In 1996 he joined Telenet and was one of the pioneers of the new telecom company. Under his supervision the Telenet brand was developed in a short time into one of the strongest and most innovative brands on the Belgian market. His current position is strategic director with VVL BBDO and founder of think I BBDO.
He was a guest lecturer in marketing, communication and public relations at the Vlerick School of Management, EHSAL, Vlekho, the universities of Ghent, Brussels and Antwerp, and institutes.


Dirk Peremans, Managing Director Proximity
Na zijn licentie Communicatiewetenschap, behaalde hij een postlicentie Bedrijfskunde en een Master in Business Administration. Dirk Peremans werkte eerst in verschillende marketing functies bij Daf Trucks en Wolters Kluwer, om daarna samen met Jo Heirman Proximity Brussels op te starten. Dit direct marketing en CRM-agentschap tradt in 1991 toe tot de BBDO-groep. Momenteel werkt Proximity met ruim 60 medewerkers voor zowel internationale als nationale klanten. Dirk is gastspreker bij EHSAL, Ruca, Ufsia, DMKI, Stichting Marketing, CRM engine,...


 


Alain Heureux, IAB President & COO of Tagora
Alain Heureux is one of the partners from the Tagora group. He is Chief Operating Officer in charge of Business Development, New Business and Marketing. Tagora is an independent Marketing and Communication group operating from Brussels and Paris (biggest independent agency in Belgium and number 5 on global ranking) working for national and international brands such as Walibi, Trade Mart, Scapa, Duvel, Snickers, Camel and Skynet. Alain Heureux and his Partners are active since more than 19 years on the Belgian and European market through service agencies specialised in field-marketing (
www.uk.cpm-int.com) , sales promotion, direct marketing, internet (www.virtuology.com) and today full integrated marcom services (www.tagora.com). Alain Heureux has always been very active in professional associations creating the field-marketing association in the early nineties called ADMH, and today operating since four years as President of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), but also since one year as Vice-President of the Association of Communication Companies called ACC. Since 2005, Alain is trying to create the House of Communication (The Egg). Alain holds a degree in Law (KUL Leuven) and is a graduate of DMKI (Direct Marketing), HSM (Media) and BMMA (Sales Promotion). He studied a Sales & Negotiation Program (Vlerick School Ghent) and a Senior Management Program (Babson Boston USA). 
 


Stéphanie Haijar, Marketing Manager "kiosk Offers" : Gallery, SMS+, SFR
Stéphanie Hajjar has a Master in Managment and Marketing degree from the Paris Dauphine University. Before joining SFR she worked as product manager for Delifrance (Food), as manager dept strategy and marketing - Bouygues Telecom France (Telecom), as marketing manager in a start-up "Magicmaman.fr", and as consultant for start-ups and invest funds on internet.







Catherine Le Drogo, Directeur de la Ligne de Produits TV/Vidéo, Orange France
Catherine has 16 years of experience in multimedia, Internet and mobile industries. She started her career as Project manager in the realm of European R&D multimedia projects sponsored by the European Commission (DGXIII), investigating new usages on top of remote access to cultural databases (using ATM backbones and ISDN networks). In 1995, she joined France Telecom Mobile International (rebranded now Orange) participating in GSM and UMTS tenders for proposals, recruiting and managing marketing experts in new mobile affiliates during the commercial launch phase. 15 mobile affiliates of Orange have been launched between 1995 and 2000 in Western Europe, Central Europe, Asia, Middle East including Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia,... In 2000 she was recruited by Wanadoo to set up the mobile activity of the Internet provider. She convinced the Managing Board of the company that internet users will pay for mobile goodies and SMS and that Wanadoo had the great opportunity to use their billing capacity to provide their customer with an easy micro-payment in one click. After the successful development of the mobile activity, she got promoted to premium services Director in 2002. She then joined Orange France by the end of 2003 to coordinate and launch the mobile TV activity. Catherine Le Drogo is now operating the Orange mobile TV Business Unit.


Stéphane Coruble, Marketing Director IPTV and Diversification.
Stéphane Coruble has a Masters Degree in Management and Marketing Services from DESS CAAE in Aix-en-Provence. Before joining RTL Group he worked as TV marketing researcher for IPB. He started working for RTL Group in 1999 in various interactive marketing functions. Stéphane Coruble was nominated director of diversification of RTL International on Feb 1, 2006.
